  • Have you been to the Wal-Mart fabric department lately?

They have this great fabric that has the elastic stretchy part on top so you can make a sundress VERY easily.  Of course, with a three year old and a two year old, you need straps.  So I had to create those out of the leftover material.  What do you think?

And did you notice the arm band?  Also leftover material, lol.

  • So if you are on Facebook, you may have seen my note that I chopped off all my hair on Sunday.  If not, SURPRISE!

  • Livi-isms

Yesterday morning Jon was shaving while Olivia watched.  When he finished, she asked,

"Daddy, did you get all your frickles off?"

Driving home from Grandma and Grandpa's house, we were talking about what we had learned in Sunday School.  When I asked Norah if she had learned about Elijah too, Livi said,

"No, she just talked about Noses again."

You know, Noses.  The guy that led the Israelites out of Egypt.

  • We know...it has been a long time....

Hi all, we apologize for the lack of postings....as before, we promise to try harder!  It has been a very busy summer!  We logged over 3600 miles and 66 hours of drive time on our Minnesota/Montana Wedding Tour.  We had a blast and both weddings were beautiful!  Thank you to everyone who was lodged us, fed us, welcomed us, etc.  Both girls also enjoyed seeing all their cousins and being pampered by all of their grandmas(granny, mimi, grammy....).  Below are some pictures of the beautiful gifts received from Auntie Jess and Steph.  Also a couple of the girls, you'll love Norah's pigtails!(Olivia really did not want to take her picture, for a change!)  Talk to y'all soon!

  • We are official

The girls and I went to the grocery store this afternoon to do our bi-weekly shopping trip.  Payday, you know.    I have to admit, I am quite a sight when grocery shopping.  I have both girls, who are notoriously stinky (only while grocery shopping), a very long grocery list, a pen, coupons, my purse, and all the things that fall off my children, like shoes, coats, headbands, etc.  I am goal-oriented.  I want to make it out of there close to budget, with meals planned, with everything on my list, without things not on my list, and getting the best deal I can in a decent amount of time.  Oh, and I also want to not scream at my kids.

So imagine if you will, a cart half-full, a list partially crossed off (but not in any semblance of order), coupons shuffling, children fighting, a pink shoe twenty feet behind us, the three-year-old putting Barbie fruit snacks (or whatever treat is nearby) into the cart at any opportune moment, etc., etc., etc.  Not to mention we've decided to go in the afternoon, after nap time and before dinner, in which there is a finite amount of time to be taken.

Having all that in your mind, it is easy to see how my focus is completely on the task in front of me, and not on anything else.  Such as the other people in the grocery store.  This is also partially true because for the past three years I have not known anyone in the town we lived in, which meant we never--NEVER--ran into anyone in the store.  So I'm out of practice.  But it is official--we are official Arkansas-ians.  Arkansas-ites?  What do you call yourself if you live in Arkansas???

Anyway, today at the grocery store, five people (four from church and one we're related to--Hi Grandpa Rick!) stopped us to say hello.  And of course they all spotted me first.  I'm sure we create quite the spectacle, what with everything else I've mentioned and our super-sized, brigh blue, holds-two-children-when-they-aren't-beating-each-other-up-cart, lol.  One of them even said, "You don't know me, do you."  I said, "Yes, I do, I'm just in grocery mode!"

It was fabulous!  And we have arrived.

  • The Orange Flower

Here are some photos of the girls at Grandma & Grandpa Rustad's house, in front of some brilliant orange flowers!

Olivia was not a willing participant for most of the picture-taking.

    But warmed up quickly.

  • Another Livi Drawing

This time it's of Daddy.  (Daddy twice, actually--I think she was trying to get it right)

I asked what was on Daddy's cheeks, and she said, "His bruises!"

I asked, "Do you mean his whiskers?"

    "Yes, his whiskers!"
